About the School

Validus Preparatory Academy is a small high school serving students in grades 9-12. Our mission is to prepare students to meet and exceed the NYS graduation requirements with an emphasis on building skills for the 21st century. Validus offers a rigorous curriculum, leading to New York State Regents and Local diplomas. We offer four advance placement courses – World History, English Language Literature, English Language Composition and Spanish. Integrating these courses into our curriculum has helped to raise the caliber of colleges and universities that have admitted our scholars. Our scholars attracted a whopping $5.7 million in grants and scholarship prior to the COVID-19 pandemic. To date, Validus scholars have been accepted into top colleges and universities such as Cornell, NYU, Carnegie Mellon, Brandeis, Syracuse, Skidmore, Howard, Temple, Fisk, Gettysburg, and many SUNY/CUNY schools. Our 4-year graduation rate was 77% in 2022. We are projecting an 80 – 82% graduation rate in 2023. Additionally, Validus rich school culture has been life-changing for our scholars. Celebrations such as Culture Day, Day of Giving Thanks, Decision Day, Annual Sports Banquet, Senior Award Night, Spirit Week, Junior Brunch, Prom, and Graduation are woven into the fabric of the school.
