Health Opportunities High School (HOP) provides students with exposure to a challenging curriculum that prepares students to pursue a wide range of health-related professions. Partnerships with Lincoln Hospital, CUNY Hostos Community College, the Bronx Health Action Center and The New Jewish Home allow students to earn industry accreditation in many different health fields such as Certified Nursing Assistant, Phlebotomy, Pharmacy Technician and Emergency Medical Technician. HOP also offers a bilingual program so that students can graduate with the NYS Seal of Biliteracy as fully bilingual in English and Spanish. Our school is a FutureReadyNYC school offering the best of college and career exploration and preparation in Healthcare - one of the fastest growing and highest paid industries in our city Well prepare you for work in any field, not just healthcare. Students will explore a range of careers, acquire 21st century employability skills including financial literacy, earn paid work- based learning opportunities and early college credits and credentials, engage in 1-1 advising and will graduate prepared for college and/or careers in NYCs growing healthcare industry. We are part of the Career Readiness and Modern Youth Apprenticeship (CRMYA) pilot, which helps us support career readiness for all our students. We have courses that help our ninth and tenth graders explore their career interests and develop readiness skills. Our students can apply for apprenticeships in tech, finance, and business, which allows them to earn and learn while in high school.
