About
The Urban Assembly Bronx Academy of Letters was founded on the idea that students who can express themselves in writing can succeed in any path, leverage student voice, and strengthen social justice. In addition to our inquiry-based college preparatory curriculum, students participate in regular field trips to Broadway plays, art institutions, overnight trips to universities, a multitude of high school elective classes, and enriching community-building activities. We have a partnership with SONYC, a DYCD after-school program that serves as a pathway to success for youth in 6th, 7th and 8th grades with clubs, trips, sports, art, and service. Our enrichment team connects students to jobs, internships, and programs that allow them to travel and learn to become the best version of themselves. We celebrate hard work, curiosity, self-expression, and service. Our graduates are critical readers and writers, fully prepared to maximize their learning and change the world.
