The College Academy is a preparatory school dedicated to providing students with rigorous academics and small class sizes. Each student receives personalized attention, guidance, and support to reach their individual post secondary goals. Located on the George Washington Campus in Washington Heights, students have access to Advanced Placement (AP) and College Courses to earn free college credits in their junior and senior year. TCA offers tracks in varied academic areas, with fun, engaging extra-curricular activities, sports, and field trips to support all levels of students in reaching their potential. The goal of TCA is to develop a community of literate, self-reliant, high achieving students who are able to transfer their knowledge and skills to real life situations and are prepared to succeed.

Art
The College Academy (TCA) elevates students creatively and intellectually to express their ideas in visual and musical form to perceive not only historical contexts, but how it relates to the dynamics of culture in community-based art. The College Academy's visual arts courses range from Art Foundations, Intermediate Art, as well as Advanced Placement 2D Art. In Art Foundations, students learn how to apply the elements of art and principles of design in basic level drawing and design skills, from a large scope of art styles. In Intermediate Art, students are encouraged to use symbolic themes within their work to create deeper meaning. In Advanced Art, the goal is for students to develop their own artistic voice and prepare them to work professionally for the future study of art after high school. Students of all grade levels celebrate their work with two large art shows and seven concerts throughout the school year. In choir, band and our school theater production students rehearse and perform instrumental music, acting and ensemble to be celebrated amongst our school community and parents. It is our ultimate goal at TCA to celebrate and provide a platform of growth through visual and musical arts for all students.
