About

We are an inclusive ensemble, empowering diverse individuals to collaborate, explore, and take responsibility for authentic, bold choices in a student-centered learning environment. We provide our students with a rigorous dual focus in both the performing arts and liberal arts, with students taking 3 performance classes and 4 liberal arts classes each year. The balance of the two supports all students to become life-long artists and learners. Students perform in grades 9-12 in a variety of performance settings, both intimate and grand, in school and throughout NYC and beyond. Our staff sets high expectations for all students. Our guidance team ensures that each child is supported in various ways over the course of every year. Our learning community is comprised of families from all five boroughs, mirroring the diversity of NYC Public Schools. We are conveniently located one block from our CUNY partner, Hunter College, on the Upper East Side.

Art
Talent Unlimited High School (TUHS) seeks to educate, empower, and prepare students for work in the professional arts world and beyond. As a Career and Technical Education (CTE) portfolio school, students engage in a sequential and scaffolded series of knowledge, skills, and internship experiences. Work-based learning tools are designed to train students in the discipline of the artist while equipping them with a vast array of analytical and creative skills. TUHS believes the goal of training students in the arts transcends the art form itself. We endeavor to prepare our students for the rigors of any professional work environment through disciplined performing arts training coupled with an uncompromising academic education. Our students work closely with various arts organizations and industry professionals, including: All-City Ensembles, American Composers Orchestra, American Dance Legacy, Circle in the Square, Classic Stage Company, Crane School of Music, Exploring The Arts, Jazz at Lincoln Center, Martha Graham Dance Center, Metropolitan Opera, Sound Off, NYC Honors Music Festival, NYSSMA, 92nd Street Y, Opus Dance Theatre, Park Avenue Armory, Paul Taylor School, Schubert Theater, Theater Development Fund (TDF), and Western Wind Vocal Ensemble. We are also expanding offerings to ensure students are educated as whole artists, with depth of understanding in their own art form coupled with breadth in related disciplines, including college-level Advanced Placement Music Theory.
