About
New Directions Secondary School is a transfer High School which accepts first time ninth graders, students who are new to the country and current HS students who have fallen behind. We offer small class sizes (9 to 20), individualized academic counseling and support for students to accelerate towards graduation. Our students participate in campus-wide extra-curricular activities such as PSAL sports teams, Senior Prom, and talent shows. We also provide paid internships and early career certifications through our LTW program. Additionally, we fully support students who wish to attend college, with college readiness seminars, college orientation planning, and application assistance including FAFSA. New Directions supports all students and families with monthly food pantry access, outside referrals for social services and family health needs. Finally, our school also partners with Montefiore Clinic @ Taft Campus for medical and dental services.
