About
High School of World Cultures is specially designed to support all community students, but in particular new New Yorkers and multi-language learners. Through our rigorous and supportive programming, we work closely with students to help them develop the 21st century skills required for their success as global citizens. At HSWC, we offer a variety of classes, programs and activities to support all of our diverse students. These include a CTE Culinary Arts Program, Visual Arts, Music, extensive AP courses including AP English, AP US History, AP Computer Science Principles, AP African American Studies, AP Spanish, and AP Art. All of our students have explicit opportunities to earn the NYS Seal of Biliteracy, Civics Seal, and Career and Technical Education endorsements upon graduation. We pride ourselves on supporting students from all over the globe and to develop multilingualism through our Transitional Bilingual Education Program (Spanish) and English as a New Language classes for all languages. Additionally, we have a wide variety of extracurricular programs for students in our after-school and Saturday academies including PSAL (basketball, baseball, softball, volleyball, soccer, track, swimming, badminton, and more!) We have state of the art facilities including an upgraded baseball field and olympic size swimming pool right on campus. We offer clubs and activities including dance, music, film, art, newspaper, GSA, student government, mindfulness/yoga, and more! HSWC's mission is to create a safe and powerful learning space for all and ensure that all of our students are college and career ready.

Humanities & Interdisciplinary
We offer a range of English as a New Language (ENL) services, including a Transitional Bilingual program in Spanish and stand-alone ENL services. Students have a choice in 10th grade from the CTE in Culinary Arts program, BUILD Entrepreneurship program or Visual Arts sequence. All students have the option of participating in Advanced Placement courses.
