About

Longwood Prep, distinguishes itself as a boutique college preparatory high school with a strong emphasis on Media Communications and Business Management. Our specialized curriculum includes a New York State Approved CTE program in Media Communications, covering film, photography, audio, and digital media, including paid work-based learning internships where students gain hands-on experience in creating and editing multimedia content using industry-standard tools like Adobe Photoshop and InDesign. Beginning as early as 10th grade, students can enroll in college-level courses, accelerating their academic journey and preparing them for higher education and career success. Our comprehensive Business Management pathway offers foundational courses such as Introduction to Business & Marketing, Business Communications, Business Management, and a capstone Business & Entrepreneurship course. This sequence equips students with essential business skills and culminates in real-world practicum experiences, allowing them to apply their knowledge in simulated business settings or through collaborations with local incubators. At Longwood Prep, we integrate technical expertise with rigorous academics, ensuring a well-rounded educational experience that fosters critical thinking and prepares students for impactful careers in media, business ownership, and beyond. Our commitment to civic engagement, exemplified by initiatives like the New York State Courts Franklin H. Williams Commission, further enriches students' learning by promoting community awareness and responsibility.
