Health Professions

BAHC students must take four years of Science and Mathematics! Honor Programs and AP courses are offered to qualifying students. Students may begin taking college courses in the 10th grade through our CUNY College Now program. All students pursue an Advanced Regents Diploma. Student electives are in the math and sciences. Through our College Access for All program, our students have attended Princeton, NYC, and Fordham Univ. on full scholarships!

Requirement:
Ed. Opt. programs admit students across all academic levels. Students are grouped into Low, Middle, and High categories based on a composite of their academic data. One-third of offers are made to students in each category.
Priority:
  • (Group 1) Priority to Bronx students or residents
  • (Group 2) Then to New York City residents

About the School

Our mission is to support students in becoming competent, self-confident, and responsible global citizens who are ready to participate productively in our democratic society. As a college preparatory high school, we are committed to providing the best opportunities for academic and social growth for all of our students. In keeping with our health theme, BAHC exposes students to a variety of health professions to help them make informed career choices. All our students take the Mentoring in Medicine courses. BAHC students work towards receiving their Advanced Regents Diploma. All students must take three years of foreign language, four years of math, four years of science, and AP courses.Presently, BAHC is a CUNY College Now, AP for All, Peer Group Connection, Restorative Justice, and College Access for All school which allows students to have fun while earning college credits during high school. Many of our students graduate with a semester of college credit! Our students go on a variety of fun trips and overnight college trips! Our students dress for success while in school.
