WATCH prepares students for careers in the health field through a challenging curriculum, ultimately leading to an Advanced Regents Diploma or Nursing Assistant State Certification. As a small and tight-knit community, WATCH creates a socially supportive learning environment, ensuring student success in all aspects. Our partnerships with programs in higher education form a smooth transition into college and career programs, while our lead community partnership with Brownsville Multi Service Family Health & Wellness Center (BMS) provides students with a steppingstone into the public health career sector. All students have the opportunity to take Advanced Placement courses and exams for college credits. WATCH students enter to learn, and leave to achieve wellness in their own lives, within their communities, and beyond. This year our academic program exclusively focused on art- related courses and activities. Students had the opportunity to explore various art forms, develop their creativity, and hone their skills. CTE Curriculum provides a pathway for students to transition from high school to post secondary opportunities in health careers. Students will engage in hands-on experience by providing patients with health care needs in various medical settings through clinical internship programs. Students can also take college level courses that prepare them to enroll in a Nursing program after graduating high school. These college level courses are designed to fill prerequisite requirements.
