About the School

The College Academy is a preparatory school dedicated to providing students with rigorous academics and small class size. Each student receives personalized attention, guidance, and support. Located on the George Washington Campus in Washington Heights, students have access to Advanced Placement (AP) and College Courses to earn free college credits in their junior and senior year. TCA offers tracks in varied academic areas, with fun, engaging extra-curricular activities, sports, and field trips to support all levels of students in reaching their potential. The goal of TCA is to develop a community of literate, self-reliant, high achieving students who are able to transfer their knowledge and skills to real life situations and are prepared to succeed.

Academic Highlights: Technology and laptop carts in every classroom. Tracks in STEM & STEAM (3D printers, Robotics, Computer Science Programming, and Software Development) that guide students to college and career readiness and culminate in Advanced Placement classes in Studio, Saturday Academy, After-School Tutoring, Mentoring programs, Bridges classes and socio-emotional supports. Mid-Winter and Spring Break Programs for Regents Prep and credit accumulation., FutureReadyNYC: Technology (Software Developer), Art, Biology, Computer Science, Calculus. Language acquisition tracks with AP Courses, Choir, Music, Drama, and Band program., PSAT and SAT preparation classes., Student Success Center to help with college applications, financial aid and scholarship applications., CUNY College Now courses in-house and at campuses earn college credit while in high school.
