Excelsior Preparatory High School, a collaborative college preparatory learning community, offers a challenging academic curriculum dedicated to developing students' science, math, critical reading and technical writing skills. We are a small high school locally considered a gem in Southeast Queens. All students are expected to take four years of math, English, and science in order to be college-ready. We are affiliated with the Gateway Institute for Pre-College Education a STEM program which provides comprehensive early college exposure for select students in each cohort. We are also FutureReadyNYC school offering the best of college and career exploration and preparation in Computer Software Development -one of the fastest growing and highest paid industries in our city. We’ll prepare you for work in any field, not just tech. Students will explore a range of careers, acquire 21st century employability skills including financial literacy, earn paid work- based learning opportunities and early college credits and credentials, engage in 1-1 advising and will graduate prepared for college and/or careers in NYCs growing Computer Software Development industry.

This program seeks to expose students to the foundation skills necessary for college success and for success in science, technology, engineering and math careers. These students are provided with an advisor who assists them in applying for and enrolling in enrichment programs that only those students are eligible for receiving. The students are provided with rigorous courses and are expected to graduate with an advanced regents diploma.

Humanities & Interdisciplinary

This program seeks to provide students with a college preparatory liberal arts curriculum. Students will be well rounded, taking courses such as English, Math, Science, Social Studies, Art/Music, Physical Education and Technology, that will assist them to meet the requirements for a regents diploma at minimum. These students will also be required to engage in yearly community service projects that allow them to develop an understanding of community and the role they play in its development.
