This is a specialized curriculum designed to equip students with essential knowledge and skills related to the business world. It offers courses in finance, marketing, entrepreneurship, and leadership, preparing students for future entrepreneurial endeavors and careers in the business field. Students have the opportunity to earn up to 18 college credits in this program.

Ed. Opt. programs admit students across all academic levels. Students are grouped into Low, Middle, and High categories based on a composite of their academic data. One-third of offers are made to students in each category.

About the School

Academy for College Preparation and Career Exploration Secondary School is a 6 to 12 grade Community School located in the Flatbush section of Brooklyn, New York. Our school is known as the crown jewel of Flatbush where students enter to learn and leave to succeed. High school students select from Art, Civics, STEM, Business Entrepreneurship and CDOS Credential pathways to ensure they are exposed to many career and college possibilities. These pathways take students directly to the fields of study by way of experiential learning field trips that spark their interest and give them options. We offer an innovative approach to experiential learning through our rigorous college preparatory programs and work-based apprenticeship programs at various companies around New York City. We are 1:1 for laptops to students as well as fitted with a Mac Lab and Smart Board technology in every classroom. As a Community School, we support the whole child, the child’s family, learning both inside and outside of the classroom. We also have a free School-based health center, services include: Vision care/free glasses, Medical care, Dental care, Mental health counselors. We ensure students are exposed to Occupational and Civic literacies in preparation for high school apprenticeships and internships with major corporations throughout New York City. Students have received paid apprenticeships at companies to include Amazon, Jet Blue, Citibank, Accenture, and Brooklyn Navy Yard. Our most recent graduates have secured acceptances to MIT, Ohio State, Columbia University, NYU, CUNY, SUNY and many other private institutions. In addition, our students secure over $1M in scholarships and aid for college.

Academic Highlights: College Now/Dual Enrollment courses @ CUNY City Tech, Advanced Placement and College Course Offerings, Academic and career planning starting in the ninth grade, Career Development and Occupational Studies Credential, Accelerated academic program where students can earn up to 18 college credits by the end of 12th grade
