The Celia Cruz Bronx High School of Music is a small school for students who are passionate about continuing their music studies while pursuing a challenging academic course of study. In addition to music instruction, students are expected to complete course requirements that lead to an Advanced Regents Diploma, college acceptance, and career readiness. The school curriculum requires a commitment of four years of music instruction and includes AP courses along with College Now courses through Lehman and Monroe College. In addition, our school has partnerships with Community Change/Career Visions, FutureReadyNYC, GEAR UP (Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs) , Good Shepherd, Metropolitan Opera, Carnegie Hall, American Museum of Natural History, CUNY Lehman College, Jazzmobile, Jazz at Lincoln Center, and Tony Bennett's Exploring the Arts Foundation. FutureReadyNYC is powered by career-connected learning, an educational model that reimagines learning by blending classroom instruction with real-world experience, 21st century employability skills, early college credits and credentials. Our students receive a head start on a Business and Marketing career-connected pathway to successful launch into strong jobs and careers by exploring opportunities in their desired industry.
