Art
Brooklyn Tech offers a robust visual and performing arts program alongside its reputation for excellence in STEM education. Multiple levels and varieties of instrumental, orchestral, and choral courses are available for students to take throughout their four years at Tech. Advanced Placement Music Theory is also offered. The annual Fall Play and Spring Musical are strong artistic outlets for Tech students. In addition, the visual arts have a large presence through our system of majors, which include Media Communications, Industrial Design, and Architecture. Through these different Majors, students complete courses such as Adobe Print, Adobe Film, Digital Photography, Studio Art, Product Design, Advanced Modeling, Digital Design, Inventor Certification, Architectural Drawing with AutoCAD, AP 2D Art & Design, and others. Students can graduate with industry certifications in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere, Autodesk Revit, Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, Autodesk MAYA, and others. Alongside this wide array of coursework, students have the opportunity to engage with our program outside of the classroom through participation in Stageworks (technical theater), Student Media, and Audio production using our state-of-the-art recording studio and video production facilities. Tech students find our Visual & Performing Arts Program to be expansive and capable of offering a wide array of artistic outlets alongside their STEM coursework throughout their years here at Brooklyn Tech.
