All students are supported with 1 on 1 supports with our College Counselor, Guidance Counselor, and Social Worker, who engage in college and career activities and trips from grades 9-12, including FAFSA, Personal Narrative statements in ELA, and SAT tutoring. Art
Murray Hill Academy has a robust arts program that specializes in both studio arts, dance, and music. Our studio arts teacher works with students on a variety of highly engaging projects, using a variety of techniques and art forms, such as drawing, painting, collage, embroidery, crochet, and bookmaking. Our after school dance and cheer program focuses on technique, collaborative dance, learning the work of master choreographers, and dance critique, culminating in a Spring Talent Showcase for the entire school community. MHA's professional dance teacher exposes students to a variety of dance forms including modern, ballet, salsa, hip hop and tap. Additionally, our content teachers are committed to exposing students to the arts and bring our students to many plays, movies, and museums throughout the year, taking advantage of our location in midtown Manhattan, as well as trips to art institutions in Philadelphia, Washington DC, and international locations that vary each year! Our music program includes an elective in which students all participate in the Spring Talent Showcase. Students choose to engage with our Professional MHA dance instructor or our Resident Artist who teaches drum line and has performed with incredible artists like Shakira. Students may also choose to participate as back of house contributors to the arts. Many of our students take more than the minimum two credits of art. Our goal is continuous exposure to various art forms as a vital part of a well-rounded education.

Mathematics & Computer Science(A19B)
Computer Science & Technology, Science & Math

A multi-year Computer Science track offers courses in Computer Science that challenge students to solve real world problems using analytical skills. They cover the basic principles of Computer Science, Web Programming, and Advanced Placement Computer Science classes that go deeper into Software Engineering. Through Computer Science course offerings, students will learn computational thinking, problem solving, and critical thinking. Students' success in the real world will greatly depend on their ability to problem solve and utilize technology in their everyday lives. We offer Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II, Pre-Calculus and Financial Math. Students who take high-level math receive higher scores on the SAT (includes the "Passport to Advanced Math," that requires the manipulation of complex equations). Students who take high-level math courses are more likely to graduate from college and get higher salaries than their peers who did not take those classes.
