John Bowne Institute for Health and Nutritional Sciences (Q14F)
Health Professions

This 4-year program of study focuses on health and nutritional issues concerning our bodies, our diets, well-being, and medicine. Students will take science and health courses in nutrition, anatomy and physiology, CPR & First Aid. You will investigate health and nutritional topics through case studies and hands-on learning activities. Students enrolled will be trained in and receive Red Cross certification in First Aid & CPR. Healthcare comprises the largest sector of employment in New York City with approximately 590,000 jobs and shows great potential for growth. Healthcare refers to health-related services provided to patients in hospitals, residential care facilities, doctors' offices, outpatient care centers, private homes, and laboratories. This program of learning will prepare students for post-secondary studies in healthcare and future careers in medicine, nursing, physical therapy, nutrition, and related healthcare fields.

About the School

John Bowne High School is a welcoming multicultural school community. All community members build on their diversity through collaborative action and global awareness.
