Program Details
Performing Arts
The Vocal Studio is an intensive study of music theory, vocal production and performance, and utilizes a repertoire that includes classical, jazz, gospel, contemporary, and folk. We offer multiple levels of choir, exploring all styles from traditional choral greats to pop music of today. Choirs perform regularly at professional venues throughout New York City. The Select Choir studies and performs NYSSMA level five or six pieces, and participates annually in the NYSSMA competition.

About the School
We are a family friendly, dual-mission high school providing talented students CITYWIDE with a strong curriculum in both their academic subjects, as well as visual arts, drama, dance, vocal music, band, and orchestral music. Our scholar-artists are provided a safe environment to explore their academic, artistic, and social growth. Along with their artistic studies, students are prepared for high academic achievement through college preparatory and Advanced Placement courses. Students are provided with multiple daily studio classes in their talent area, designed to prepare them for top liberal arts, fine arts and performing arts colleges, and help them develop the discipline to be well-rounded students and future professionals. Situated in the heart of Downtown Brooklyn, we offer the opportunity to access the rich cultural vibrancy of the New York City arts community.
