We are a college preparatory science and mathematics high school. Course offerings and high standards enable students to succeed after graduation at the nation's most selective colleges. Our teachers provide each student with personalized attention and guidance. We provide four years of science and math with extensive liberal arts. Every freshman will take a year-long writing intensive small class-size English course to prepare them for college. All students take Advanced Placement (AP) courses, World History in the 10th grade and English Literature in the 12th grade, with options to take many AP courses in science, mathematics, and the humanities in addition. Many of our students take college courses though Columbia University DDC and CUNY College Now program. Our students participate in scientific research with university mentors, some resulting in publication and presentation. All juniors are provided free mandatory SAT preparation courses which help students' competitive standings.

Academic Highlights: We have begun to offer College Now on site, as a CCNY a professor teaches Psychology at MCSM. Many students attend College Now at CUNY campuses., Project Boost (college tour program), Comprehensive after-school program for tutoring and clubs, Columbia University Double Discover Program., International Student and Teacher Exchange Program (ISTEP), Advanced Science Research (ASR), Mount Sinai MedDOCS Cardiology Program, Mount Sinai Center for Excellence in Youth Education, Sponsors for Educational Opportunity (SEO), Fordham STEP Program, NYPL Bridge Up, Grade 11 students take a mandated SAT prep program designed and taught by MCSM teachers. This program has significantly raised average SAT scores.
