Performing Arts/Visual Art & Design
In our four-year program, students take English, Social Studies, Math, Science and Physical Education all four years. Our arts rotation begins in grade 9 with students taking one quarter of all of the arts classes, and then selecting a major. Students continue that arts major for the remaining 3 years. Students in grade 9 have an additional reading and math support period, as well as advisory once a week. Students in grade 10 begin foreign language study and have fewer reading and math support periods. Students in grades 11 and 12 continue with Spanish or select another elective (History or Science). Students in grade 12 receive 2-3 periods per week of post-secondary planning and application assistance. Finally, every student takes part in many performances and exhibitions prior to graduation, which occur in the school as well as in the spaces of our cultural partners, like the Whitney Museum, the Park Avenue Armory, New York Theater Workshop, and more!

About the School
LoMA is a small, multicultural college preparatory arts themed school that focuses on academic and artistic development and excellence. We believe that all students are intrinsically curious and capable of achieving at high levels. We support each student's intellectual, emotional, and social growth with the goal of success in a four-year college or career. These expectations require that all students take advanced math and science, AP classes and a sequence of arts classes.
