Northwell School of Health Sciences (NSHS) is a new high school that will lead the nation as a best-in-class example of how education can be designed to prepare students for well-paying careers in healthcare, addressing local needs in this industry while putting students on a path to long-term economic security. NSHS leverages a $25M grant (the largest in NYCPS history) and a deep partnership with Northwell Health to support students every step of the way, as mentors, offering on-the-job paid experiences, and with tuition reimbursement upon graduation. Access to state-of-the-art simulation labs and healthcare integration into core academics, Support for students from Northwell and its employees, the largest private employer in NYS, shared-teacher model with Northwell Health, student mentorship, field trips and paid work experience at Northwell sites. Immediate eligibility for post-secondary tuition assistance for students who go on to Northwell, access to alumni community post graduation, early college credits, and employer-valued credentials, Early College Credits: Minimum of 7 College Credits, Option of four pathways that directly prepare students for high paying jobs including: Nursing, Medical assisting, Healthcare management, and Behavioral health
