About the School
The Bronx Center for Science & Mathematics offers challenging academic programs integrating technology across the curriculum. We meet students' emotional, intellectual, and social needs via a support structure linking faculty, students, and parents. The foundation of our school rests on Seven Core Virtues: Respect, Integrity, Honor, Excellence, Commitment, Perseverance, and Service. Our college readiness success is supported by private/public funders who provide science research, robotics equipment, a computer lab, free SAT Prep, mentoring, and underwrite experiential learning trips to Nicaragua, Ecuador, Denmark, Paris, Spain, Germany and Mali. Partners include Hayden and Heckscher Foundations, PDT Partners, and Travelers Insurance. We are part of the Career Readiness and Modern Youth Apprenticeship (CRMYA) pilot, which helps us support career readiness for all our students. We have courses that help our ninth and tenth graders explore their career interests and develop readiness skills. Our students can apply for apprenticeships in tech, finance, and business, which allows them to earn and learn while in high school.
