Queens Preparatory Academy is committed to providing our scholars with a competitive 21st century curriculum to prepare every scholar for college and careers. Our scholars, through our project/problem based teaching method experience learning academics via real-world applications to hone their skills in problem solving, critical thinking, research , collaboration, written and oral communication, presentation, coding and technology. All 9th grade scholars take our Start-Up Tech elective course where they learn basic entrepreneurship, research and develop an app to address a community issue, and present their app to peers, and professionals. Our scholars can continue with an Entrepreneurship track or computer programming/engineering track. Our Computer programming and engineering track engages and explores curriculum and careers in cybersecurity, climate action, advanced manufacturing and robotics. We thoughtfully engage our scholars on the burning question, "What career will I choose and how do I get there?" through our 3-year career readiness curriculum where our scholars examine career pathways and construct a career-plan and portfolio. 11th and 12th grade scholars partake in internship and mentoring opportunities with professionals. Our scholars also have an avenue to develop their self-expression, talent, interpersonal and intra-personal skills through our advisory, enrichment courses, after-school arts program and leadership opportunities.
