Pre-College and Honors Academy is an Honors College Preparatory Program offering scholars an opportunity to receive 18 or more College Credits through the Advanced Placement (AP) College Board, and additional college credits through our liasons with LaGuardia Community College and CUNY York College. Students can achieve up to 24 college credits before they graduate from High School. College Classes in Highschool with York College, St. Johns University, and Colombia University. All AP Courses and Honors Content Classes are weighted to allow students to achieve Grade Point Averages (GPAs) above 100. GOALS For A Pre-College Student: Advanced Regents Diploma; 9 Regents Exams: ELA, 3 Math Courses, Foreign Language, 2 Science Courses, Global History, 9th Regents can be US History, or another Science AP Capstone Diploma/CertificateModel United Nations, Film Studies, Journalism, Creative Writing, AP and College Courses prepare students for College and beyond.

Hillcrest is a Career and Tech Ed (CTE) and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) focused school. We proudly offer students a world-class education with a dynamic faculty and challenging curriculum. We have four NYS approved CTE programs to help our students prepare for college and career. Our CTE programs include: Certified Nursing Assistant, Computer Assisted Design, Software Engineering, and Virtual Enterprise (entrepreneurship). Our students get the benefits of a small school setting with our seven Small Learning Communities (SLC) in a large comprehensive high school. Every SLC is run by one teacher-leader, one school counselor, an administrator and teachers who use rigorous instruction to ensure student success. Each SLC has connections to the professional world with various partnerships and internships with elite organizations in NYC. Hillcrest offers students programs such as Peer Group Connections, Advisory Classes, My Brother's Keeper, My Sister's Keeper, Medical Research, Stagecraft, Model United Nations, Moot Court, Junior Achievement, Journalism, and Theater.
