The Green Carpentry Program (Q36G)
Engineering

The carpentry course of study is designed to create an appreciation of the industry and to develop entry-level skills within the carpentry trade, currently on the way to being CTE certified. Students will develop skills that ensure a successful transition from high school to postsecondary institutions.

Ed. Opt. programs admit students across all academic levels. Students are grouped into Low, Middle, and High categories based on a composite of their academic data. One-third of offers are made to students in each category.

We prepare all students for college and the work force in meeting the challenging demands of the 21st century by teaching critical thinking and problem-solving skills. We thrive on providing all students with an equitable education that enables them to grow academically, emotionally, physically and to model that we are stewards of our environment. As a Verizon Innovative Learning school, our students receive free 24/7 tutoring, hotspots and laptops. We offer opportunities such as: EMT (Emergency Management Training) and CPR Certifications. Our school has a new Transitional Bilingual Spanish program, in addition to our ESL program.

Academic Highlights: 11th and 12th graders take up to 12 College Credits through Kingsborough Community College, Saint Thomas the Aquinas University, York College, and National Equity Lab., Amazon Engineer Program: As part of our Computer Science program, students can take advanced course and be part of the Amazon Summer Internship Program., We offer guitar beginners, intermediate, and advanced. In our state-of-the-art recording studio, students write and record their own music. We also have a Rock Band., AP Courses Available, FutureReadyNYC: Healthcare (Pre-Nursing)
