About the School
School for Excellence, a small school located in the historic Morris Campus building, prides itself on promoting college, career and civic readiness. With an all-inclusive approach geared towards individually supporting our young SCHOLARS, we prioritize reading and writing across the curriculum and engaging students in developing critical thinking skills for their future. We believe in an individualized approach to teaching and learning and elevating student voice. To empower our students, we leverage our partnerships including our on-campus fully functioning farm, Bronx Connect Youth Program, 2Train Robotics team, Westhab, and our staff and student-led Excellence Clubs. Interested students can participate in our campus wide PSAL sports (JV Basketball, Varsity Basketball, Baseball, Softball, Soccer, Volleyball). We also connect with "That Suits You," a an organization that provides our young scholars with suits and ties and workshops on building confidence and self-esteem. Partnership with Children engages with small groups of students to develop their social-emotional skills and academic strengths. We also engage our students in hands-on, experiential learning through trips and field experiences in across disciplines.
