Arts Summary
Tottenville High School offers a myriad of arts courses to every 9th-12th grade student. We offer students the necessary required coursework and assessments to attain a New York City Department of Education Chancellor's Endorsed Arts Diploma in music or visual arts. We have begun piloting the Music IAAP for NYS Education. Course offerings in visual arts include fashion, computer art, TV production, digital photography, advertising, drawing, painting, architecture, technical and computer-aided drawing lab, visual arts portfolio, core visual arts, and art history. Courses in music include AP music Theory, symphonic, concert, intermediate, jazz and beginning bands, symphony, intermediate and beginning orchestras, vocal training, mixed and concert choirs, a nationally-recognized competitive marching band that performs throughout the metropolitan area and Walt Disney World annually, beginning and intermediate guitar and piano labs, music history, and extensive after-school chamber ensemble rehearsal and performance opportunities. Parent support, as well as, the positive rapport between teachers and students, help to create and foster a nurturing and enriched learning environment in our arts program. Students become integral members of smaller learning communities that create family-type experiences. Our programs strives for excellence and equity by focusing in on knowing every student well and by planning that specifically differentiates for the success of "Every Student, Every Day, and All the Time."

Career Technical Education & Entrepreneurship (CTEE)(R30A)

The CTEE pathway is comprised of thirteen programs within the growing 21st century STEAM and related industries: 1) Academy of Finance 2) Advertising Design 3) Automotive Technology 4) Architecture 5) Aviation 6) Computer Science 7) Cosmetology 8) Culinary Arts 9) Dental Chairside Assisting 10) Dental Laboratory Technology 11) Health/Medical Assisting Services 12) Law Academy 13) TV/Media Production. Each program is taught by teachers with experience from their respective field. Each STEAM program has state of the art classrooms which provide students with an exceptional learning experience. Advanced Placement and college level courses as well as internships available for eligible students. This program gives a priority to students who live in the zoned area for up to 50% of the seats.
