About

A School Without Walls (15K960) is New York City's first hybrid public school and is open to all students across the city who are interested in project based and real-world learning. This hybrid model supports students' social-emotional wellness through community building field work and in-school class and extracurricular activities, while also prioritizing individualized academic support, small class sizes, and an interdisciplinary curriculum. In the 9th grade, we blend in-person, field work, and remote learning opportunities to engage our high school students through projects that incorporate the many resources NYC has to offer. In the upper grades, students will spend part of their time in school and part time off campus engaged in internships, work-based learning, or early college coursework. At A School Without Walls, we believe in the power of young people to transform communities if given the time and space to pursue their interests and passions, while completing their graduation requirements. Our school is for everyone because it hinges on the core belief that all experiences, identities, cultures, passions, concerns and desired actions deserve exploration, cultivation and the fullest expression.
